When it’s time to show off and bringing out the best technology from the closet, no one can ever beat iOS developers as they never fail to impress their users and particularly, this time for Mac Users. Recently, iOS developers have launched MacOS Sierra 10.12.4 beta version to let the users test this Operating System. I don’t know much about the Valentine’s Day, but I’m probably sure Mac Users have got their Valentine gift this February. So let’s catch all the features and Specifications about this new MacOS Sierra 10.12.4:

How to Install MacOS Sierra 10.12.4

Installing MacOS Sierra 10.12.4 is maybe everyone’s cup of tea as it is no big in installing this OS to your Mac. Although, I will still provide the steps for all those who are new into this:
  • Go to iTunes App Store.
  • To install MacOS Sierra 10.12.4 on your Mac, look to the “Updates” tab in the App Store.
  • You should thoroughly check for new updates if your Mac shows.
  • In the updates section, find the new build ready to install.
  • Click the “Update” next to MacOS Sierra 10.12.4 listing and restart your Mac.
  • The Sierra 10.12.4 iOS is installed on your Mac.
Note: This restarting process may take a little while to execute, so make sure you don’t turn off your Mac manually unless there’s an emergency.

Alternatively, if you’re signed on Apple’s public beta program and already having a configuration profile on your device, you can install a beta of iOS 10.3 from:
  • Go to Settings.
  • Click “General”.
  • Select “Software Update”.
  • It will automatically search for the update and install it.

Features

MacOS Sierra 10.12.4 beta 2 for public beta testers includes the same features as the first developer beta which was released on January 24th. However, it has a unique Night Shift Mode feature which I’ll discuss right here:

Night Shift Mode

Like any other iOS, Night Shift allows its users to adjust the temperature of the display from cool to warm which would reflect in the increment/decrement in the levels of brightness of your display. But in Nigh Shift Mode of MacOS Sierra 10.12.4 gradually shifts your Mac’s display from blue to yellow making it more attractive for its users.

This not only cuts down the exposure to blue light, which is believed to cause sleeping problems. So you can access Night Shift Mode on your Mac display from System Preference, Notification Center or through Siri.

The other features include with same features that are publicly available in 10.12 such as:
  • Universal Clipboard
  • Auto Unlock via the Apple Watch
  • PiP for videos
  • Siri support among other things.

Availability of MacOS Sierra 10.12.4

Since this is a beta version, so the seeds are available to developers only, or to be more specific, to the members of the Apple Development Program over at developer.apple.com. It was about two weeks when Apple made beta 3 of the OS available, and this is the beta 4 version, but now it is available to public beta testers so everyone can use it and report bugs and errors so that Apple can rectify them.

Conclusion

This update of MacOS Sierra 10.12.4 has just come out for Public Beta testers, and there’s no doubt if it contains tons of performance issues and bugs. But since this is a Beta version, we all can expect a happy ending by mid of this year if its official version is out. I guess, Apple would be taking a lot of headache in fixing the known bugs and performance issues and there’s no surprise that users will not be able to spot any outward- facing changes. So, let's just hope there will be complete, bug-free and stable enough mass consumption on compatible MacBooks and iMacs.
